Take a look at these hair style tips: how to find a hair cut that suits the shape of your face.
Oval
Those with oval shaped faces can get away with almost any hair style. An oval face shape can suit really short pixie cuts, bobs, or long layered hair. So if you are lucky enough to have this face shape take advantage of it and try a few different styles out to see which one you like the best.
To keep short hair looking healthy and sleek, use a good shampoo and conditioner – those with short hair tend to find they need to wash their hair more often as they are less able to pin it up with a clip when having a bad hair day. A recent Pantene review has shown this brand to be a good daily shampoo to use whatever your hair length, and can really give that extra shine you need to stand out from the crowd.
Long
If you have a long face then the best hair styles for your face shape are those which add volume to the sides of your face. So if you have curls, make sure you show them off, and if you have straight hair either get the curling irons out, or make sure your hair is full of volume and does not just fall flat against your head.
Those with a long face shape could also benefit from some layers and feathering around the face to frame it – this also helps to add volume. Try to stay clear of short cuts, or ones that sit above your jaw line. A fringe is a good way to break up a long face, so consider either a full fringe or light side one to sweep across your face. Keep your parting more off centre too.
Round Face
If you think your face is more rounded in shape than long then look to maintain sleeker hair styles to prevent your hair making your face appear more round.
With a round face your aim is to try and lengthen it with the way you wear your hair – the tips to achieve this trend are the opposite of those for people with a long face shape.
So, with your parting, keep it more to the centre to add length to your face, and stay away from block fringes as they can make your face look even more block like.
Shorter styles may suit you as well as longer ones; make sure whichever you opt for though that you keep the style textured. Short layers work well for those with a round face shape, and keep away from heavy curls.
